About Me

Hi, I'm Gustavo!
(But my friends call me Gus)

I spent my early childhood on an avocado farm, with wide open spaces that called for me to explore and discover the world around me. Climbing to the tops of trees, I would imagine with remarkable vividness where I would be, what I would be doing, and what I would have the ability to accomplish in the coming future.

Literature then developed that vision and roused a great desire to test my talents and venture beyond the commonplace, the familiar, or the obvious. I have spent most of my life searching for anything and everything to keep the fire burning… a branch to pull me up to new heights and keep me in the pursuit of better aims.

The Journey So Far...

I studied psychology because I have always been curious about the way people behave and the things that drive them to behave that way; I also chose a business school to carry out my studies because I wanted to look at broader problems that related to both individuals and collectives. So post-graduation, I started at the beginning by accepting my first job at my old school. It was during this time that I threw myself into my music and recorded an entire album of original material.

When I turned to the business world, I continued to explore innovative ways of working with a diverse range of learners to ensure the knowledge, skills, and experience required by their current and future roles. I also began to approach large-scale change, choosing to put equal emphasis on both performance and health-related efforts to sustainably achieve the desired results. With money coming in, I began to travel and explore different corners of the world.

There was no going back after that. I started to look for ways to broaden my mindset and connect with global peers and communities of change-makers prepared to learn, accelerate, and disrupt. So I moved to Barcelona to course an International MBA and spent some time in San Francisco to get a glimpse of what major forces were expected to shape the workforce in the coming years. I took this time to learn about business in the classroom, and the world out on the road.

Why Am I Here?
(Ain't that the question!)

It has been a long and winding road, but I have built a life I can feel proud of. I have had the chance to dive into my passions, travel the world, and climb the corporate ladder; I have had the privilege of meeting fascinating people, and making close friends with those I admire most. I can’t help but think of what a beautiful place this world can be.

So feeling like a pretty realized individual, I want to exercise my ability to be present, to soak up every moment and gain true consciousness of what it is I am living and going through. I have created this space to express myself and my ideas, to share my thoughts and passions, and to journey toward an answer, or new experiences.

But before we begin, I want to let you know how honored I am that you are dedicating your time to read me and join me on this expedition. I hope that, along the way, we get to interact and grow from the astounding range of benefits we all have to offer. The world is exciting to me precisely because of its infinite variety and complexity.
